I approach my work through a person-centred, trauma-informed lens with genuine presence and curiosity. I strive to hold an environment of safety, trust, and non-judgement so we may explore what feels important to you. I welcome all identities and communities to my practice while meeting you as the expert of your own unique experience with care and compassion. I am a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO #008555), based in Toronto Ontario. I practice primarily within the Relational Psychodynamic framework, which means that when we work together you will not have a removed or overly clinical counsellor, but a real person who meets you not simply as a ‘patient’ but as the expert of your own life!
Together, we can delve into even the toughest, scariest, and unspeakable topics in a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space. I believe that the best therapy happens when a deep trust can form between counsellor and client. In my practice, I specialize in working with those who have faced trauma, especially through forms of abuse – emotional, physical, sexual, and self-harm. Related to my work on trauma, I provide therapy to those with Borderline Personality Disorder.
A little bit about me:
I trained as a doctor of psychotherapy at the University of Edinburgh, UK.
For the past decade, I have worked with at-risk youth in both Canada and the UK, and since 2014 have worked as a psychotherapist in Edinburgh (and now Toronto) providing psychoanalysis with adults regarding work-related anxiety, sex/sexuality, gender questioning, relationships/family functioning, depression, and personality disorders. I have also provided ‘Life Review’ work with elderly clients.
For the past five years, I have supervised and trained new psychotherapists and I currently work as a supervisor for those in the helping field. I also provide training and workshops to those in the helping fields who want to learn more about honing their practice through Psychodynamic Practice.
Current projects beyond my practice:
I have published in journals related to feminist research and psychotherapy and currently have several projects in press (see below). I am the co-founder of the ‘Bodies Collective’ that collaborates with scholars around the globe at bringing the physical body back into recognition within the academy. Through the Bodies Collective, we have created a new way of doing research called ‘Bodyography’. I have given numerous presentations at conferences in both North America and Europe and am also an active public speaker on mental health for universities in the UK and Canada.

Being human is complex, and every part of your story matters. Nothing you bring is too big, too small, too dark, or too heavy.
It is an honour to be entrusted with your story. I will hold it with care, deep respect, and an awareness of the privilege it is to know you. While outside of therapy, you may feel pressure to appear “put together,” when we are here together, that pressure can fall away. In therapy, I believe that connection is the foundation of our work together. We may start by deepening your relationship with yourself—exploring your feelings, experiences, thoughts, and the patterns that shape your life. From this place of self-understanding, we may examine the stories you carry, whether they are inherited, created, or told to you, and how these narratives influence your self-perception. We will also look at your most important relationships, reflecting on how your past, including childhood experiences, manifests in the present. This exploration will help us understand how you relate to those around you and how you engage with the world at large. Throughout this process, we will identify moments when life feels like it’s happening on autopilot and create space for more intentional and connected choices. My ultimate goal is to support you in connecting with what empowers you, releasing what no longer serves you, and strengthening your sense of agency and possibility.
My approach to healing is holistic and integrative. I draw from relational psychodynamic, emotion-focused, narrative, and cognitive behavioural (CBT) therapies, among others, tailoring our work to what best supports you.
I am especially drawn to supporting people, including youth, adults, and couples, through times of transition—whether that’s entering pregnancy, parenthood, experiencing a breakup, coping with loss, or adjusting to other life changes. I also work alongside those navigating relationship challenges, be they parental, intimate, platonic, or familial. Additionally, I support individuals moving through the effects of systemic challenges, including patriarchy, systemic oppression, discrimination, and the complexities of gender roles and sexual identity, as well as those grappling with loneliness, low self-esteem, stress, anxiety, or depression.
