I approach my work through a person-centred, trauma-informed lens with genuine presence and curiosity. I strive to hold an environment of safety, trust, and non-judgement so we may explore what feels important to you. I welcome all identities and communities to my practice while meeting you as the expert of your own unique experience with care and compassion. Through my practice I pay attention to the connections of the past with the present, and the impact of systemic contexts on mental health and well-being. I work with youth and adults experiencing a wide range of challenges such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, shame, grief, suicidal ideation, and self-harm.
I practice from a Relational and Psychodynamic framework and have experience using Cognitive-Behavioural and mindfulness practices. Within this we can work together to explore challenges that you are facing while moving towards growth and discovery. Ultimately, I will collaborate with you to design a therapy that fits your needs and meet you where you are at. I aim to support you with presence and compassion as you share your story.

It’s so nice to meet you!
I am a Registered Psychotherapist (CRPO #008555), based in Toronto Ontario. I practice primarily within the Relational Psychodynamic framework, which means that when we work together you will not have a removed or overly clinical counsellor, but a real person who meets you not simply as a ‘patient’ but as the expert of your own life!
Together, we can delve into even the toughest, scariest, and unspeakable topics in a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space. I believe that the best therapy happens when a deep trust can form between counsellor and client. With me, you will find a warm, compassionate psychotherapist who feels honoured to meet you in all aspects of your life.
The clients I work with:
In my practice, I specialize in working with those who have faced trauma, especially through forms of abuse – emotional, physical, sexual, and self-harm. Related to my work on trauma, I provide therapy to those with Borderline Personality Disorder.
A little bit about me:
I trained as a doctor of psychotherapy at the University of Edinburgh, UK.
For the past decade, I have worked with at-risk youth in both Canada and the UK, and since 2014 have worked as a psychotherapist in Edinburgh (and now Toronto) providing psychoanalysis with adults regarding work-related anxiety, sex/sexuality, gender questioning, relationships/family functioning, depression, and personality disorders. I have also provided ‘Life Review’ work with elderly clients.
For the past five years, I have supervised and trained new psychotherapists and I currently work as a supervisor for those in the helping field. I also provide training and workshops to those in the helping fields who want to learn more about honing their practice through Psychodynamic Practice.
Current projects beyond my practice:
I have published in journals related to feminist research and psychotherapy and currently have several projects in press (see below). I am the co-founder of the ‘Bodies Collective’ that collaborates with scholars around the globe at bringing the physical body back into recognition within the academy. Through the Bodies Collective, we have created a new way of doing research called ‘Bodyography’. I have given numerous presentations at conferences in both North America and Europe and am also an active public speaker on mental health for universities in the UK and Canada.
I am also an active potter and oil painter and am currently working on a project that highlights the intersection between wheel-based pottery, trauma, and psychotherapy: https://www.centredself.ca or follow me at https://instagram.com/centred_self

I am passionate about exploring who you are—your individuality—and how you fit within the larger systems that shape life: family, relationships, work, community, society, and the world around you. Being human is complex, and every part of your story matters. Nothing you bring is too big, too small, too dark, or too heavy.
It is an honour to be entrusted with your story. I will hold it with care, deep respect, and an awareness of the privilege it is to know you. While outside of therapy, you may feel pressure to appear “put together,” when we are here together, that pressure can fall away. This is a safe, warm, and non-judgmental space where you can show up honestly and authentically, exactly as you are. My practice is a space where diversity is embraced and celebrated. I strive to create an affirming environment for people of all identities. However you show up—whatever your story, background, or identity—know that you are welcome here, fully and without condition.
In therapy, I believe that connection is the foundation of our work together. We may start by deepening your relationship with yourself—exploring your feelings, experiences, thoughts, and the patterns that shape your life. From this place of self-understanding, we may examine the stories you carry, whether they are inherited, created, or told to you, and how these narratives influence your self-perception. We will also look at your most important relationships, reflecting on how your past, including childhood experiences, manifests in the present. This exploration will help us understand how you relate to those around you and how you engage with the world at large. Throughout this process, we will identify moments when life feels like it’s happening on autopilot and create space for more intentional and connected choices. My ultimate goal is to support you in connecting with what empowers you, releasing what no longer serves you, and strengthening your sense of agency and possibility.
My approach to healing is holistic and integrative. I draw from relational psychodynamic, emotion-focused, narrative, and cognitive behavioural (CBT) therapies, among others, tailoring our work to what best supports you.
I am especially drawn to supporting people, including youth, adults, and couples, through times of transition—whether that’s entering pregnancy, parenthood, experiencing a breakup, coping with loss, or adjusting to other life changes. I also work alongside those navigating relationship challenges, be they parental, intimate, platonic, or familial. Additionally, I support individuals moving through the effects of systemic challenges, including patriarchy, systemic oppression, discrimination, and the complexities of gender roles and sexual identity, as well as those grappling with loneliness, low self-esteem, stress, anxiety, or depression.
I believe you are inherently good, capable of growth, and deserving of a beautiful and fulfilling life. I may not have lived your exact experiences, but I will listen. I will advocate for you. I will protect your story, and, when you need it most, help carry some of the weight.
I am passionate about exploring who you are—your individuality—and how you fit within the larger ...

In my view, counselling works best when psychotherapists believe in their client’s capacity for change. Even as you read this, I believe in you and trust that you have the capacity to grow and change.
My goal is to learn about your unique journey and experiences, and use that insight to then help you move towards change. In my therapeutic space, you’ll be the main unit, and I’ll be your support. Whatever it may be that brings you into therapy, we’re on the same team.
My approach is strongly person-centered, meaning that our process will be based on your unique circumstances. I’ll strive to hold a space for you to be you. This will take earnest effort from both of us; ultimately it will be a space that is free of judgement, where you’re the expert, and where we set the agenda together. You’ll have the freedom and security to openly explore your inner thoughts and feelings.
I’m passionate about supporting older adults, and have experience supporting those affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia. I have also worked with clients on issues related to suicidality, self-harm, depression, anxiety, school concerns, diverse relationships, and men’s issues.
I maintain that we all have the capacity to face whatever it is that’s troubling us, given the right environment. If you’re looking for a safe space to address what’s been on your mind, I’m happy to hear you out.

My practice is person-centred, trauma and attachment informed. I believe the relationship developed between me and you is the foundation to effective therapy. My approach is collaborative and inclusive, meaning I will not be clinically removed but rather warm, empathic, and non-judgemental.
I integrate a number of different treatment models including psychodynamic and interpersonal as well as elements of CBT and DBT, because I believe that everyone is unique and as such requires an approach tailored to them. I don’t believe in band-aids, quick fixes and lots of worksheets.
I believe in providing a safe, open space for you to be heard and validated as we unpack the issues together.

I view the client-therapist relationship as a collaborative partnership where we work honestly and respectfully together to discover inner truths, cultivate growth, and inspire transformation.
I operate from a person-centred, trauma-informed, and anti-oppressive framework where the client is compassionately treated as a whole person, rather than just a diagnosis; acknowledging various aspects of their life experience such as race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, and culture.
I possess a very calm, warm, and trustworthy personality that helps one feel safe and at ease. I’m also a very attentive, empathic listener who gently helps clients identify their ‘stuck points’ and regulate their emotions via relaxation/mindfulness techniques.
I believe that providing a safe and nonjudgmental space for clients is essential to the therapeutic relationship, and you can rest assured that I can be entrusted with your most painful stories. You are the expert of your own experience, therefore my role is to support you in recognizing and building upon your strengths as we collaboratively develop strategies to improve your life in meaningful ways.
It takes courage to seek help and work through your problems, but with time and commitment, it can be the most rewarding thing you can do for yourself. As your therapist, I’m here to support you on your journey of healing and self-discovery.
